We are going to try and get the Minor League Draft underway today at 12 noon. It's going to be a little different the time on the draft is going to be a little longer after the first 3 rounds. The first 3 rounds we will stay with the four hours. After that we will switch to 6. This is just because we will start getting into the guys who won't be playing for a while etc etc so there is no need to rush the Minors at that point.
Just so everyone knows again how this is going to work:
12 Rounds. You can bow out anytime after the 3rd round. Each minor leaguer counts for 100k against the salary this promotes a healthy minor league system.
International players count for 100k while they are in the minors. When you bring them to the majors OR when they no longer can be in the minors due to Abs or IPs their contract will become real.
Example: Olivera will be 100k while in the minors, when you bring him up his contract becomes the approx 10 mil a year that is on sportrac. Please look into these international guys if you are going to take them!!! Its on you to know what the Spotrac contract is! We will look it up after the pick but no OH GOD I DIDN'T KNOW! If Olivera is in the minors hes 100k when you bring him up, he's 10 mil, you put him back down he's 100k. Cool? Cool.
I would request that everyone gets at least 7 minor league players, that would make me the happiest co-commish in the world. It would let me know you guys plan on being in this league until we die of heart attacks... too soon? (Seriously Tbomb will be missed, but he's not dead.)
Free Agency will start tomorrow at 12 noon. Each team can nominate 2 players per week! (This will change if at the end of the week there are no people to bid on)
We had a vote last night of the Trade Committee. It was voted to add the 2 years to the bid point system, so that there was some difference between the two.
So it's now
1 years = 1.0 (which is basically none)
2 years = 1.1 Multiplyer
3 years = 1.2
4 years = 1.3
5 years = 1.4
It passed 5-1.
