If you have any topics or suggestions you want to discuss at this year's winter meetings, post them in this thread. Just your idea and short explanation. We're not voting on, passing, or discussing anything here. It's just a list to make sure we don't forget to cover anything.

I would like to change how we handle free agency bids. I'm not crazy about how each new bid resets the timer which makes some bids drag on and on. I'd like to see a system where a player is nominated for 24 hours and everyone has 24-48 hours to place a bid (blind, can't see anyone else's) and highest bid or BP wins. It may also help cut down on some of these crazy bidding wars that lead to crazy contracts.

I would rather a max cap on the length of the bid. 24 hours from the last bid or 48 hours total, whatever is soonest with something to prevent a last minute snipe like if someone bids in the last 4 hours of the 48, the previous bidder has an opportunity to outbid that, but that's would be the bid/contract, no exceptions.

I would rather up the bid percentage.

Drafting of unsigned international free agents.
I would like to discuss the possibility of drafting international free agents before they've signed with a team. For example, we know Ha-Seong Kim is going to be posted this year, but we cannot draft him until he signs. I would like to see if we can implement something where we can draft players before they sign but with some stipulations like we only get 4 or 5 years of team control as opposed to 6, and they cost $1 instead of $0.5. And they have to be on the MLB team, not the minors rosters. Something to keep teams from drafting 16 year olds and only use for players like Yoshi, Shogo, or someone we know is going to be in the MLB.

The precedent set with Shohei Ohtani was that any IFA must be brought before a vote at winter meetings to be eligible as a full time player, not eligible for the rookie draft. That player would be bid on like any normal free agent (similar to how MLB clubs bid on IFAs rather than drafting them). As the status quo, I would like this proposed as the alternative to your suggestion.
International Amateurs are still eligible for our minor league draft.

International Amateurs are eligible for our draft when they've signed with a team. I want to discuss changing the rule we have now when the winter meetings begin.

Proposal to move the deadline to use a DFA to the beginning of winter meetings instead of the trade deadline

Change to the scoring - go from saves and holds as sperate categories to SV+HLD and remove AVG. Just use OBP.

Proposal to use Fantrax draft room for our minor league drafts. We should be able to set it so only rookies are available. It will help with people not picking up their players - once someone is drafted they go right on the team's roster

For RFA: if the total is 30+ mil per year, the winning team has to give two draft picks if the previous owner declines to match
