It includes the biggest mistake of the the list. AND THIS my friends is why I am not a statistician or even pretend to be one. And also why these are just for fun and my guess is first place will take last and last will take first... That being said one of the things i didn't take into account was not everyone had 11 pitchers at the time. That skewed the ERA numbers...
Gallo is still where he was it doesn't really change much. But what it does do isssss the following:
RECAP!
16: San Marcos Scrubs
NEW 15: Team Victory
Pitching was so off the graph was awful..
The fall was enormous after the ERA change. Basically Victory's ERA was divded by 11 because everyone had 11 pitchers. Well Victory did now have a full team at the time. He only had 8 pitchers. So once it changed he went from first in ERA and WHIP to basically last. The turn changed so drastically he went from 18.9 points to 14.4.
Chris Archer has a nice year with 208 stirike outs Hammel and Hamels are there as well. (Name change to the law offices of Hammel and Hamels?) On the offensive side of the ball Bour comes out with a surprising 21 home runs, Singleton as well but he also has his 163 strike outs. Of course the best player in baseball leads the way as always .306 ba, 33 home runs 97 rbis man how the Angels waste his talents.
Well Victory was in 1st in ERA and WHIP that's definitely changed. The pitching really brought victory down only scoring high in saves. The hitting was actually above average placing first in RBI's. But near the bottom in K's and Stolen Bases.
14: Isotopes
13: Flonx Fombers
12: Gallobombs (Again another fall due to one less pitcher. not as far because he did have 10 pitchers, his whip actually continued to keep him near the top)
10a: RUMHAM
10b: San Antonio
9: Krustyville
8: Jose Altruve
7: Womp Womp
4a: Undraftables (Another winner due to multiple categories getting higher now in a three way tie for 4th)
4b: Shelbyville Shelbyvillians
4c: The PEDs
3: Nomar Mr. Nice Guy
And we are back to the list and we are back to the most volatile team in the list. The best pitching staff in the league! Nomar! But wait... the second to worst lineup in the league.... Nomar?
That's right the difference is crazy first in pitching second to last in hitting. The pitching here really focuses on wins and k's. Nomars 101 wins are up at the top of the league and so are a combined 1586 strike outs. Kluber, Strasburg, Lester, and Hill all having over 190 strikeouts. Bucholz and Dickey are right there with around 150. The Era is also pretty low and the saves are made up by Rosenthal and Ramos. JD Martinez has a year with 27 home runs but its Pedro Alvarez who checks in with 36 yes 36 home runs but also 165 strike outs.
Nomar was second in wins, and ks and in the top fourth of every other pitching category. Nomar was near the bottom in extra base hits, home runs, runs and RBI's. Just a little bit more in the batting department would have gone a long way to possibly nabbing second.
2: Dreamtown Naps
Being consistant has Dreamtown up here, in the top half of the league in both hitting and pitching goes a long way. Dreamtown could be expecting a big year from Big Papi as he exits the league clocking in with 93 rbi and 28 home runs only Jose Abreau gets past Papi in any of his categories. We will see if this holds up. Pitching wise Harvey Odorizzi, Duffey and Bumgardner are all slated to have great years along with the saves of Kimbrel and Britton just being in the top half of the league on all categories really helps out.
The lowest number Dreamtown has is a 5 in wins and strike outs. Which is pretty decent as everyone else except our first place team has categorizes where they really really struggle in. Near the top in ERA, Saves, and WHIP. And Near the top in RBI, K's against and Average help the team run to the top.
1: Gravitational Waves
FAR AND AWAY the best team in the league according to the calculations with a 2 point lead over Dreamtown. Waves is second in both pitching and hitting. BOTH PITCHING AND HITTING.
With the best outfield in the league possibly (seeing how Pollock and Peralta hold up) Harper leads the way with 33 dingers and 95 rbis trying to get the MVP award again. Brandon Belt and Todd Frazier have great years Belt leading the team in strike outs though. Pitching wise Salazar, Cole, Gio and Jaime Garcia all put up strong numbers.
Waves is first in Wins, Era, strike outs against, Extra base hits and batting average. All the others hes pretty close to the top, only in RBIs and Home Runs does this team struggle.
It's going to be an interesting year, we will see who lives up to their billing and who doesn't. I don't think I'll ever do these power rankings again because of how badly I mangled them. Good luck everyone!!!
