Well here we go only 8 teams remain... who will be number one!?
Team 8: WOMP WOMP
In all my years and days of power rankings I have never seen such an average team in pitching. Wins... 8th... Era...8th... Saves... 8th... K's 10th...whip...7th... what's the average? 8th. And here comes Womp in 8th!
This is skewed a little bit with now having Chapman and Betcentes. That poor Andrew Miller pain will hurt, Those two players could possibly vaunt Womp up a spot or two in the rankings. Springer and Rizzo lead the carge offesnively approx 30 homers, 80 runs scored and 80 rbis. On the pitching end, Betances and Strickland clock in under 3 era wise. And Severino leads the charge in strike outs.
Womp did ok in hitting Extra Base Hits were good to her, but got hurt a little bit in the home runs, runs and walks areas.
Team 7: The Undraftables
The Undraftables clock in with above average hitting and below average pitching. We will start to see these flcuations as we get up there, until we come to our first place team who just dominates in all of it.
The Undraftables top the charts in steals and you can see why with Billy Burns and Delino Deshields all about 30, and Dee Gordon with 50. Bautista shows some sembelence of power with 32 homers, and Goldschmidt has a decent year but not quite has well as he did last year. Pitching wise Price is the only one under a 3 era and thats just barely at 2.99. K wise Hernandez Price and Fiers all clock in just around 200.
Undraftables tied for most categories led in hitting with 1st in runs, 1st in walks and 1st in stolen bases. He was last in the league in Saves and 4th to last in era. Coming in 11th in pitching overall.
Team 5a: Shelbyvile Shelbyvillians
The greatest team on this list that the rules don't apply to, and will most likely win the league for years to come. In seriousness slightly above average, (mind you not greatly above) in numerous departments helps the team be high on the list.
No one player stands out looking at the stats, Upton, Santana, Machado and Carter all clock in around 20 home runs. The same players have all around 80 rbi. Strike outs are a huge possibility though , but at the same time 5 players are hitting over .270. The make or break is in the pitching. Not a single player under the ol 3 ERA. Hel barely anyone under the 3.2. Strike outs are plentiful and so are wins Rodon, Walker, Iglesisas and Smiley all having around 200ks.
Shelbyville scored high in Wins and Strikeouts. Also being above average in everything but walks and ks against in batting helped to land this high on the list. Is this the most likely output? Nope.
Team 5b: The PED's
The PED's are the best offensive team in the league, categorically speaking at least. being above average in every category except stolen bases. Only Cain tops 20.
Up and down the lineup the whole crew has about 20 home runs save for Escobar and Cain. The whole crew has about 80 rbis. Consistency is the key with this group of ball players. I don't think in any of the other lists are there other players are so pretty much close to each other. Team leaders in rbi's include Duda by 1, Home runs by 4, and McCutchen taking what can only be described as a step back from where he has been.
On the other side of the ball only Brad Boxberger tops over 20 saves, and he's heart at the beginning of the season. Era's under 3 include Brett Cecil and Jake Arrieta and 3 players top out around 200ks, Martinez, Ross and Arrieta.
The very strong above average showing in offense keeps this team near the top. Toping our first place in the power rankings team to grab the covented best offensive team spot. The PEDS scored 6th in XBH, HR, R. 3rd in Rbi, 2nd in BB, 4th in Ks, and 3rd in Average. Pitching was a little downhill but only saves really hurt this team.
