Chris Davis will be a 4 mil player until his contract is up no matter what. And that right there is a huge point that we kept coming back to when talking about it. It's not an ideal situation making him so cheap, but I think we can all agree that the original argument with thunder got way worse than it should of. 1.) New manager gets money they desperately need due to the previous owner running the team finance into the ground. 2.) bombers gets to keep Davis because he shouldn't be punished due to thunder quitting. 3.) What I think is the most important point, the whole argument of where the 19M/yr traded money goes no longer is an issue because it doesn't exist anymore. It sucks we even have to sit here and talk about this, because it shouldn't of happened in the first place. To me at least though this is the easiest and fairest way to go on. You can make the argument that Clutchy might be getting a slight advantage with the money coming back to her, but considering the hole she has to dig her team out of I don't mind that happening. Plus this way no other team is getting penalized by having trades revoked or having to take over for Davis's contract. We honestly figured people would just look at it and be like "yeah that's cool" when we came up with the idea of taking back that 19M/yr instead of a drop, but again if we want to have the league vote on it that's fine by me. |

I support the mods here on this one. Keep it simple. Take the albatross off the new managers neck. Void the $19m. Chris Davis remains a $4m player. There is precedent when a team changes ownership: for example, Too Stupid Ted Stephien traded away all the Cleveland Cavs draft picks in the 80's. The NBA gave some picks back when the team changed ownership.

In my defense I don't know who Trine Thunder is personally and he offered me the deal outta no where. I actually thought about it because Severino has ace upside and controlled for a while. I didn't read everything you guys posted bc I'm a little tuned up but I hope reversing my trade that was completed and approved a few days ago isn't reversed. That's not good business.

If I understand correctly, the trade isn't getting reversed. The $19 million Trine was on the hook for is just gone so I had room to work with to fix the roster. I chose that as my free drop. |
