Good morning,
Pardon my ignorance on your draft as I have drafted only in your typical fantasy leagues like ESPN etc. I have no idea what to do or go when it becomes my turn to draft. I could use a little help here. Maybe someone could email me some instructions and examples ? Sorry to be a burden to you all.

There's a whole thread on this board. Literally titled draft.

Don't worry about it Tbomb. We are going to do the draft here in the forum. In a league as in depth as this, this gives players a little more time to balance out contracts and things like that. At the bottom of the forum is our draft category. Starting at noon, enjoyingcarp will make his first pick there. At that point Number 2 on the list CrypticFreaks (undraftables) will be on the clock. I'll prob send him a text message just letting him know he's up.
Everyone has 4 hours to make their pick, so usually people check in every hour or so to see if it's their turn. It's a slow draft so that we get to enjoy it leading up to the season. A quick example is how you posted right here, but in the draft forum and simply selecting the player you want such as
Freeze Dried Mice select Jim Edmonds OF STL
and boom you're all set until your next one. Let me know if that helps.

I do have a question which I don't seem to be able to find an answer for: The contracts listed on the contracts page are what we are getting when we draft a player correct? So for Example ARod has 2 years left on his contract for 27.5 mil so that would be how long we have him and what we pay him? Because this is a draft that will take a long time I'm sure that if that's the case we will end up running into situations where people draft and go well over budget because a draft cap of 190 for 30-40 players is not a lot per player. Will someone be keeping track of all this throughout the draft or at the end of each round?

I actually think that is a great idea Iowa, I or Eric (whoever is on at the time) will make sure to post updated cap spaces at the end of every round.
