Rosters will be made up of a 40 man active roster like the real majors. The little difference is that only 30 will be active on your ESPN team at one time. The following are the positions that will accrue points.
Catcher
1st Base
2nd Base
3rd Base
Shortstop
Infield
Left Field
Center Field
Right Field
Outfield
Utility

There are 8 bench spots on the ESPN Active roster for pitchers or batters and there are two DL spots.
AAA Team
The AAA team can consist of anyone regardless of how many years they have played in MLB, it can also consist of any other injured or suspended players that you have.
The AAA team is made up of 10 roster spots and is separate from your Minor Leaguers. This for all intent and purposes is the extra 10 of your Active Roster. You can call anyone up from AAA to the majors at anytime. When you are sending players down into AAA they must go through the waiver process if they have over 3 years of experience. Less then three years and they start to eat up their options.
Until the first game you can place anyone you want in to the AAA ballclub without having to worry about minors. For example, before the first game if you wanted to put Albert Pujols in the minors you could, but after the first game he would have to pass waivers before going to your AAA team.
TL:DR - Setup your AAA ballclub before the season with no penalties. After that be careful who you send down!
Max/Minimum Roster Size
If you are over the 40 man roster then you must release or trade a player within 72 hours. If this is not done the player that was brought up will be dropped for you. Even if Joey Gallo had to come to the 40 man roster, he will become a free agent. The staff will keep an update when players are getting close and put them into another post to help you remind you. We will also send you an email when your player has gone over the limit. We are nice guys like that.
You must have a minimum of 30 players on your active roster on ESPN. All of your positions must be filled with players who are not hurt! If you miss a day or two with someone who is day to day that is acceptable, but if someone is out for the year and they are in your starting Catcher spot then that is BAD.
Also you must have players playing in the majors on your team. I'm talking about the 30 person active ESPN team here. You must have some what a competitive team. One of the things about dynasty is people like to "rebuild" rebuilding your team is not trotting out people who do not play everyday to try and save money all the time. This is going to be a tough one to judge but in the end its going to fall on the judgement of the staff. If they believe you are purposefully tanking you will be removed from the league. No tanking for the first overall pick. You can maintain a competitive team while at the same time having a stacked minors it is DEFINATELY possible. You most likely will be in last place, but at least you will be somewhat competitive. It's those teams and I've seen them in other leagues, that roll out part time players in every position and awful awful pitchers you get the idea.
As for the injuries if you continue to put injured players in your starting lineup you will receive 3 warnings, if you don't fix the team you will be removed from the league.
